A Note to George Bush About Hurricane Katrina - September 2005
George – As you survey the destruction caused by hurricane Katrina and look at all the devastated homes and flooded cities, there’s one very, very important thing you need to realize: THIS IS WHAT GLOBAL WARMING DOES AND IF YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE IT, IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE! If you need to read that sentence multiple times until it gets through your thick skull and you get it, do it and do it now. Do not read further until you do. Katrina has shown us exactly what we face in the coming years, and you have an important choice to make, George. We’re the human race, and are you for us, or against us? Read more.

House Energy Chair Attempts to Intimidate Climate Scientists - July 2005
The chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Texas Republican Rep. Joe Barton, is attempting to intimidate climate scientists whose research shows evidence of global warming. He is asking them to provide their raw data, and has also asked the National Science Foundation for details of all grants and other funding given for climate research. And of course Barton is unbiased when it comes to the question of global warming, right? Of course! He’s only received $1.84 million from the oil, gas, coal, nuclear, electricity and chemical industries since 1987, more than any other member of the House. Douchebag. Destroying the Environment - Good for Business?

The Bush Administration's Anti-Environment, Anti-American Agenda
George W. Bush has repeatedly increased polluters' profits by rolling back environmental regulations and allowing them to release more pollution into the air and water. Once again, the average American pays the price (they are exposed to more hazardous chemicals, resulting in more disease, suffering and death) while Bush's big campaign contributors (the polluting industries) get richer. This is a theme that's repeated over and over again in the Bush administration in policies relating to the environment, energy, pharmaceuticals, consumer safety, and much more.

What About "Addressing Threats Before They're Imminent?"
George Bush has said that he believes the time to address threats is before they're imminent. But does he really believe it, or is it just a convenient lie to help justify his invasion of Iraq? What has he done to address the greatest threat that America and the world faces, global warming? Nothing. In fact, he's making it worse by breaking the promise that he made while campaigning in 2000 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions if he were elected president, and allowing increased emissions. He has also said that he believes we should address problems now and not leave them for our children to deal with. Is he telling the truth about this belief of his? Again, look at global warming. It's the biggest problem that our children (and grandchildren) will face, yet Bush refuses to address it.

Bush "Gassed His Own People" Too
In the neoconservative PR/brainwashing blitz before the Iraq invasion Bush repeatedly said that Saddam Hussein "gassed his own people" and talked about terrible it was. Yet while he said this Bush was rolling back pollution regulations and gassing the American people by allowing millions more tons of poisonous gases (pollution) to be released into the skies of America, resulting in 6,000 - 9,000 more American deaths each year. Let me ask you George, if gassing and killing thousands of your own people is so terrible, then why are you doing it to us?
